Vision of a Developed Nation

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Vision of a Developed Nation
IndianNGOs.com's Sanjay Bapat and Samit Roy met Guruji in his ashram to know his vision

A nation where there is no crime. A nation with peace and no fear. A violence free nation.
Look at America
It is one of the most advanced nation in this world.
But do you know that there is very high drop rate among High School students in USA and many are subjected to mental depression, drugs and alcohol.
Will you call America as a developed nation?
There is no peace
There is fear all around the world particularly in these entire so called developed nations.
Where is the peace of mind?
Are they our role model?

In comparison Costa Rica is one of the world's most peaceful nation where there is no military by constitution. They maintain defence by domestic police forces for internal security.
There is social security and peace in Costa Rica.
The president of Costa Rica can go anywhere with just one policeman.
But Costa Rica is now suffering from crime due to Latin American drug cartels.
Violence has taken toll of human life and values.
Violence is everywhere, even in India.
Unless we get rid of hate, crime and violence, the material progress of mankind has no value.

My idea of developed India is where there is no crime, hate and violence.
A disease free, clean environment and poverty free nation, where everyone is educated.
A society where there is spiritual values.

Do you believe India can become a developed nation by 2020 ?
Well, 2020 is too far. My idea is that we should be looking at 2012. The next five years.
